In order to improve the quality of Islamic education and establish synergy between institutions, the Faculty of Tarbiyah, State Islamic University (UIN) North Sumatra Medan held a benchmarking activity to the Faculty of Tarbiyah, State Islamic University of Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang. This activity took place on [date of activity] and was attended by faculty leaders, lecturers, and educational staff from UIN North Sumatra.
The purpose of this benchmarking is to explore superior practices implemented at the Faculty of Tarbiyah UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim Malang, especially in terms of competency-based curriculum, innovative learning methods, and effective faculty management. This meeting is a forum for exchanging ideas and experiences in the development of quality Islamic education that is relevant to the needs of the times.
The event began with remarks from the Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah UIN Maulana Malik Ibrahim, who delivered a presentation on the curriculum and the faculty’s flagship programs. Some of the programs highlighted were the application of technology in learning, strengthening the capacity of lecturers through training, and developing a competency-based evaluation system. In addition, the Faculty of Tarbiyah UIN Malang also shared experiences in research management and collaboration with various national and international educational institutions.
Participants from UIN North Sumatera had the opportunity to visit academic facilities at the Faculty of Tarbiyah UIN Malang, including libraries, laboratories, and learning spaces specifically designed to support interactive academic activities. The Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah UIN North Sumatera expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and experience sharing from UIN Malang, which is expected to be applied in their faculty to improve the quality of education.
As a follow-up, the two faculties agreed on opportunities for cooperation in various fields, such as joint research, student exchange programs, and lecturer capacity building training. This activity ended with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) which became the basis for strategic collaboration in the long term.
Through this activity, the Faculty of Tarbiyah UIN North Sumatra hopes to implement various relevant innovations to improve the quality of graduates and become a faculty that excels in the field of Islamic education.
