Leadership Training from the US Embassy for Master of English Education Students: Improving the Leadership Skills of the Young Generation

The US Embassy held a Leadership Training activity for students of the Master of English Education program. The activity, which was held on February 1st at hall of Faculty Tarbiyah UIN SU Medan, aims to equip students with leadership skills that are relevant in the global world, especially in the fields of education and language.

The training featured speakers from the US Embassy as well as leadership and education practitioners, who provided insights on collaborative leadership, effective communication, and self-development in a multicultural environment. In addition, the training focuses on developing practical skills that can be applied inside and outside the classroom, with an emphasis on creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving.

Students are invited to participate in interactive sessions, including leadership simulations, group discussions, and role plays on decision-making in real-life situations. These activities are designed to prepare them to become leaders who are responsive to social and cultural challenges, and able to build good cooperation with international peers.

A representative from the US Embassy stated that this program is in line with their mission to support education and leadership development for Indonesian youth, particularly in the field of English education. At the end of the session, participants were given the opportunity to ask questions and discuss directly with the speakers about career and scholarship opportunities in the United States.

One of the participants, a Master of English Education student, said that this experience was very useful for self-development and insight into the world of international work. This training is expected to inspire students to contribute more broadly in the fields of education and leadership, both at the national and global levels.
