Medan, Indonesia – July 11, 2025 — The Master’s Program in English Education (Magister Tadris Bahasa Inggris), Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training, UIN Sumatera Utara, proudly shares a remarkable achievement: Maslathif Dwi Purnomo, Ph.D, Head of the Program, has been invited as a distinguished speaker in the International Visiting Lecturer Program hosted by the Centre of Pedagogical Research and Innovation (CPRI), Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia.
The lecture, held on Friday, July 11, 2025, from 8.30 to 10.00 PM (Malaysian Time) via Google Meet Conference, brought together postgraduate students from UPSI’s Master’s Program in Teaching English as a Second Language.

Maslathif explored how communication unfolds through multiple modes: verbal, non-verbal, and visual, shaping the dynamics of social interaction. His insightful analysis encouraged students to think critically about language in real-life contexts, highlighting the power of discourse in shaping meaning.
The session was interactive, with students actively engaging in discussions and raising thought-provoking questions. The atmosphere reflected not only academic rigor but also a genuine enthusiasm for cross-cultural dialogue.
