In order to improve the academic quality and development of educational resources, the Faculty of Tarbiyah State Islamic University (UIN) North Sumatra (SU) Medan conducted benchmarking to Brawijaya University Malang. This activity took place on January 10th and was attended by Dean, lecturers, and educators from the Faculty of Tarbiyah UIN SU Medan.
The benchmarking aims to enrich the insight and adoption of best practices in higher education, especially in the field of teaching and curriculum development. The series of activities began with presentations from Brawijaya University regarding the education system, learning innovations, and effective faculty management. Brawijaya University also shared their experiences on technology-based curriculum development and teaching.
In addition to formal discussions, benchmarking participants had the opportunity to see first-hand the academic support facilities at Brawijaya University, such as the educational technology center, laboratories, digital library, and student creative spaces. This activity provides insight into the importance of innovative supporting facilities in supporting a dynamic and interactive learning process.
The Dean of the Faculty of Tarbiyah UIN SU Medan said that this activity is expected to be an inspiration and development model for their faculty. Furthermore, this event also opens up opportunities for collaboration between the two institutions, both in the form of joint research, exchange of educators, and student exchange programs that will enrich the academic experience of both parties.
This benchmarking ended with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) as a form of seriousness in establishing sustainable cooperation. The Faculty of Tarbiyah and Keguruan UIN North Sumatera hopes to bring positive changes that are in line with the development of higher education in Indonesia and provide broad benefits for students.
