On February 9, 2026, Ahmad Amin Dalimunthe, Ph.D., participated in an international community service and cultural exchange program through a school visit activity at Rockwoods International School. The program included interactive learning sessions for Grade 3 and Grade 9 students during both morning and afternoon classes.
As part of the commitment to strengthening global engagement in education, the activity became a meaningful platform for cross-cultural collaboration and international educational exchange. Through this program, students were introduced to more global, interactive, and multicultural learning experiences that encouraged them to develop broader international perspectives from an early age.
The learning sessions were facilitated by educators from four different countries, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Senegal, and Tanzania who took turns entering classrooms and delivering materials using distinctive teaching approaches influenced by their educational and cultural backgrounds. Ahmad Amin Dalimunthe, Ph.D., represented Indonesia in the program and actively engaged students through interactive classroom activities and cross-cultural discussions.
The presence of international educators created an engaging classroom atmosphere while introducing students to the richness of cultural diversity and global educational practices. Throughout the sessions, students enthusiastically participated in interactive discussions, classroom games, collaborative learning activities, and cultural sharing sessions from each participating country.
Beyond academic enrichment, the program also promoted important educational values such as tolerance, intercultural communication, collaboration, and global citizenship. The school visit became a meaningful opportunity for students to interact directly with educators from different parts of the world, allowing them to gain new perspectives on international cultures, languages, and educational practices.
For the Master’s Program in English Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK), UIN Sumatera Utara, participation in international community service activities such as this reflects the program’s commitment to supporting globally connected educational experiences and strengthening international academic collaboration.
The activity also provided valuable opportunities for educators to exchange teaching experiences, expand international professional networks, and gain insights into multicultural learning environments. Such experiences are expected to contribute positively to the development of innovative and internationally oriented educational practices within the program.
The event was carried out in a warm, enthusiastic, and inspiring atmosphere, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in advancing education and fostering mutual understanding among cultures through meaningful learning experiences.
