Medan, June 15, 2026 – The Master’s Program in English Education (MTBI), Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training Sciences, UIN North Sumatra Medan, successfully conducted an online Guest Lecture entitled “From Dreams to Global Opportunities: A Guide to Earning Prestigious International Scholarships” on Monday, June 15, 2026.
The event was attended by lecturers, students, and participants from various academic backgrounds who joined virtually through Zoom. The program aimed to provide valuable insights and practical guidance for students aspiring to pursue higher education through prestigious international scholarship programs.
The guest lecture was officially opened by the Master of Ceremony, who welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of international academic opportunities in today’s globalized educational landscape.
The event continued with welcoming remarks delivered by Dr. Maslathif Dwi Purnomo, Ph.D., Head of the Master’s Program in English Education (MTBI).
In his remarks, he expressed his appreciation to all participants and highlighted the significance of international exposure and academic enrichment activities in supporting students’ academic and professional development. He also encouraged students to actively seek global learning opportunities and prepare themselves to compete at the international level.
Following the opening remarks, the moderator introduced the guest speaker, Dr. Akhmad Najibul Khairi Sya’ie, Lc., M.A., Senior Lecturer at UIN Sunan Ampel Surabaya. As an academic with extensive experience in higher education and international engagement, he shared valuable perspectives on scholarship opportunities, academic mobility, and strategies for achieving academic success on the global stage.
During his presentation, Dr. Akhmad discussed various prestigious international scholarship programs and provided practical guidance on how students can strengthen their applications. He emphasized the importance of academic achievement, research experience, English language proficiency, leadership skills, and strong motivation in securing competitive scholarships. He also encouraged participants to view international scholarships not merely as financial assistance but as gateways to broader academic networks, intercultural experiences, and professional growth.
The presentation was followed by an interactive Question and Answer session. Participants enthusiastically engaged in the discussion by asking questions related to scholarship preparation, study destinations, application requirements, and strategies for overcoming challenges during the application process. The session provided a valuable opportunity for participants to gain deeper insights directly from the speaker’s experiences and expertise.
As a token of appreciation for his contribution, the organizing committee presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Dr. Akhmad Najibul Khairi Sya’ie.
