Socialization of Hybrid Learning with Permanent Lecturers

In order to welcome new students batch 2  for the 2023-2024 Academic Year, the Master of English Tadris Study Program held a Hybrid Learning Socialization. The socialization was attended by lecturers, new students, and the administration of the study program. This activity was held on Thursday (21/3) by using the Zoom Meeting application with Session 1 for all permanent lecturers and Session 2 attended by all new students batch 2 for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. This socialization marks a progressive step in introducing innovative approaches to students, while strengthening collaboration between lecturers and study program leaders.

In an enthusiastic atmosphere in Session 1, the Head of the Master of English Tadris Study Program, Maslathif Dwi Purnomo, Ph.D led the socialization with permanent lecturers. In his speech, Mr. Lathif highlighted the importance of adapting to recent developments in higher education and described hybrid learning as a step forward in preparing students for global challenges. Various materials were presented in this activity, ranging from the introduction of the concept of hybrid lectures, the technology used, to the adaptation strategies needed by students.

Presenting the Course Guidlines

The permanent lecturers conveyed their deep understanding of the concept of hybrid learning and how it will be applied in the teaching learning process. They emphasized the importance of flexibility, interaction and collaboration between students and lecturers in achieving academic success. 

At Session 2, which was attended by new students batch 2 for the 2023-2024 academic year, Maslathif Dwi Purnomo, Ph.D, Head of the Master of English Tadris Study Program, explained that hybrid learning combine online and offline learning in equal proportions. “We realize the importance of integrating technology in the learning process, but we also understand the value of face-to-face meetings in building social interaction and deeper learning,” he said.

During the socialization session, new students are introduced to the online learning platform that will be used, as well as other supporting technologies such as discussion forums, video conferencing, and lecture material repositories. In addition, they are also given practical guidance on how to manage their time, organize an effective learning environment, and utilize the available resources.

The socialization of hybrid learning with permanent lecturers and new students in batch 2 for the 2023-2024 academic year of the Master of English Tadris Study Program marks a step forward in adopting innovations in higher education. Although challenges lie ahead, students and academic staff are ready to face them with a spirit of adaptation and collaboration. It is hoped that with proper understanding and support, hybrid courses will be an effective platform in preparing students for the global challenges that lie ahead.
