Ahmad Amin Dalimunthe, Ph.D, a lecturer of the Master’s Program in English Education, Faculty of Tarbiyah and Teacher Training (FITK), UIN Sumatera Utara Medan was honored to deliver the opening speech at the Opening Ceremony of the V International Internet Olympiad in English organized by the Dovletmammet Azadi Turkmen National Institute of World Languages, Turkmenistan.
The international event brought together students from various countries under a shared spirit of learning, self-development, and academic excellence. The olympiad served not only as a competition platform but also as an opportunity to strengthen international friendship, intercultural understanding, and global collaboration through education and language.
In his opening remarks, Ahmad Amin Dalimunte, Ph.D, conveyed warm greetings and friendship from Southeast Asia to Central Asia, emphasizing the important role of language and education in building connections among nations. He highlighted that international academic activities such as this olympiad create valuable opportunities for young people to exchange ideas, broaden perspectives, and develop global awareness.
During his speech, Ahmad Amin Dalimunte, Ph.D reminded participants that the true purpose of learning and competition is not merely about achieving victory, but about becoming a better version of oneself through continuous growth and perseverance.
“Keep learning and keep growing. Mistakes are part of learning. Challenges are part of progress. And every question you face today is an opportunity to grow,” he stated before participants from various countries.
He also encouraged students to fully embrace the international experience as an important step in their academic and personal development journeys. According to him, participation in global educational activities can help students strengthen confidence, communication skills, and intercultural understanding in today’s interconnected world.
